HARVEST AT ST. HELENA WINERY
According to some Napa Valley vineyard managers, the 2003 Harvest has been one of the most complex and challenging harvests in the past 10 years. This year we experienced an unusually cold spring, late bloom set, a hail storm, and blistering heat spells. These were not always the best weather conditions for a wine country tour!

Most of the commercial wineries took their fruit a little too early in September. Since St. Helena Winery owns, manages, and farms our own vineyard, we had the foresight and control to harvest at just the right times. We ended up harvesting our 'Reserve Block' over four separate pickings in mid October to assure we were taking the fruit only when it was ready.

Our 2003 harvest is now fermenting, scheduled to be pressed and placed in our new French barrels within the week. We have increased our case production to 400 cases. Our 2002 production, aging in the barrels here at the winery, will give us about 300 cases.

Another exciting part of harvest 2003 is that our winery facility is now complete and operational. We'd love to have you come out to St. Helena Winery during your next Napa Valley wine tour to take a look. And while you're here you can check in on your adopted vines. Just give us a call and let us know you're coming!

LAST CALL!
Our 2000 'Sympa' Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is SOLD out and we have only 11 cases of our 2000 'Scandale' Estate Cabernet Sauvignon left. Don't miss your chance to "adopt a vine" and receive your 2 bottles of 2000 ‘Scandale'.

We will have a general release of 120 cases of our 2001 'Sympa' and 'Scandale' Cabernet Sauvignon in March 2004, however we will pre-release these wines to those vine parents who wish to have our 2001 vintage wines for Christmas.

THE HOLIDAYS ARE COMING
The holidays are less than two months away and we have a unique and special wine gift idea for you!

Give that wine-loving family member, friend or colleague a ‘piece' of Napa Valley. What would be greater than to "adopt a vine" in their name, allowing them to be an adoptive parent to one of 12,000 vines and receive an annual 'appreciation gift' from the estate:

  • 1 bottle of Sympa Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, OR
  • 2 bottles of Scandale Estate Cabernet Sauvignon.

Maybe this wine gift will convince them to buy a vineyard in wine country some day, like us!

Visit our website or give me a call (707-967-WINE) today for additional information or to place your order.

IN THE NEWS
On October 6, Wine Spectator had an article on their website entitled "Promising New Napa Winemaker Takes on Six Cabernet Clients". St. Helena Winery is one of those "six Cabernet clients" and we are excited to share the article with you.
