Winners to the "Name That Wine" Contest

Back in December, we announced our direction to add white wines (Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay) to our family portfolio. The missing ingredient was what to call them. We received 42 entries with fabulous suggestions. The following names have been chosen.

"Lumiere" for the Sauvignon Blanc - Submitted by Machelle & Kent Burgess
"Triomphe" For the Chardonnay - Submitted by Mark Czerniach

Congratulations to the winners! We will be arranging for the shipment of the mixed case of our wines to both winners. As for the other 40 people who entered the contest, Paulette & I wish to honor your efforts with a 10% discount on your next 'Adopt-a-Vine' or wine purchase from us in 2009. Thank You!

2009 Pruning Season

Javier along with Octavio and Fernando are busy on pruningAs the photograph shows, Javier along with Octavio and Fernando are busy on pruning our 20,000 vines in our vineyard. Dancing between sunshine and those rainy days has been a challenge. However, we are not complaining because we have been blessed with enough rain this season to bring us back to our normal 25 to 30 inches of rain per year. With April just around the corner, we will be repairing the sprinklers and make sure all of our frost protection apparatus is in fine order. We expect the buds to begin their skyward sprout in a couple of weeks and thus, letting us welcome in the magic of spring with that glorious green belt of life.

Next Newsletter

We will discuss our next move in our growth direction with the announcement of our new - 'world class' consulting winemaker joining the team in June and the date of our first "Private Client" luncheon and tasting.

Till then... Our best!
