In the heart of Napa Valley, Fleur de Vigne is the 15-acre Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard that surrounds St. Helena Winery in the town of the same name.
There are 12,000 vines in Fleur de Vigne, and the estate will never
produce more than 1,000 cases of our hand-crafted Reserve Cabernet
Sauvignon wine.
The estate vineyard is divided into four blocks, each on 101/14 rootstock.
This rootstock was chosen because its roots don't exceed 12 feet in
depth, above the water table, This allows maximum control over water
and nutrient conditions in the soil.

Block 1
This five acre parcel was planted in February 2002 with the
same budwood as used on the Bacchus Vineyards of Joseph Phelps
Vineyards. Three-quarters of the vineyard is Cabernet Sauvignon,
with the remainder in Petit Verdot. The soils are remarkably
rocky and well-draining, similar to Block 4.

Block 2
Three acres planted in 1997 to Cabernet Sauvignon on clone 'See'
budwood.

 |
Block 3
This block is similar to Block 2, with the exception that its
soils include more clay, which adds excellent intensity to the
fruit from this block.
|
 |
Block 4
Also planted in 1997, the rocky soils provide excellent drainage for Sympa. Fifty five rows from this vineyard are vinified separately using indigenous yeasts.
