Chardonnay

Our Chardonnay grapes are cultivated at Scopus Vineyard, located in the Sonoma Mountain appellation of Sonoma County. This 15-acre vineyard, entirely dedicated to Chardonnay, is managed by one of California's most esteemed vineyard teams.

Situated at approximately 700 feet above sea level, the vineyard's eastward-facing slopes overlook the town of Glen Ellen. In the summer, cool nights and mornings prevail, influenced by the lingering Pacific coastal fog. The hillside soils are rocky, composed of volcanic red earth.

Saint Helena Winery's winemaker, Lindsey Wallingford, collaborates closely with the Scopus Vineyard farming team throughout the year, ensuring the cultivation of the ideal crop for our exceptional Chardonnay.

We ferment and age this wine in primarily neutral French oak barrels, with the goal of crafting a bright and balanced wine that is immediately enjoyable in its youth, yet has the potential to age beautifully in the bottle for years.
