Winemaker Notes:

The 2015 Sympa comes from a small but intense vintage offering notes of ripe bramble fruits, dark chocolate, boysenberry, clove, and sweet tobacco. On the palate the wine is structured and dense with plush tannins that linger into a mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2030. 

Vineyard Notes:
The Estate vineyard lies on the Napa Valley floor in the St. Helena AVA. Sympa is grown on the south parcel, “Block One,” on a ribbon of gravel that is an ancient river bed with deep, light soils that stress the vines into low fruit production. The See clone of Cabernet Sauvignon planted in this block is from Joseph Phelps’ Backus Vineyard. The vines are cane pruned and hand-tended to yield two clusters per shoot. The parcel yields two tons per acre. Cover crops are primarily legumes. Deficit irrigation practices are used.
